Research and Research Clusters

The SINOFON research center has evolved over time and now brings together scholars focusing on a wide range of topics related to contemporary Asia. Our team consists of excellent researchers working across the humanities, social sciences, and political science. We take pride in fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue and cross-cultural comparisons that push academic discussions on Asia beyond narrow disciplinary and national frameworks.

The Centre primarily focuses on high-quality academic outputs, including books, journal articles, and book chapters. In addition, we actively present our research at academic conferences and produce conference proceedings, as well as working papers and policy briefs.

To support our research, the Centre’s research is structured into four thematic clusters:

Anthropology

(led by doc. Monika Arnez, Ph.D., MA)

Arts and Humanities

(led by Doc. Giorgio Strafella, PhD)

Political Studies and International Relations

(Ing. Mgr. Richard Turcsányi, Ph.D.)

Language and Literature

(Francis Charles Bond, Ph.D.)
